Monday Night Antics

I have got to learn when Jesse says, “you wanna come hear our band play?”, to ask when and where before saying, “Absolutely!” These guys do some serious gorilla evangelism. Their ministry is not for the faint at heart. I wound up in a smokey little “club” (read bar with a tiny stage) in the heart of South Beach watching The Saturn Project. I have to say it was one of the best shows I have seen them do. Mind you that it was the second time I had seen them outside of a church setting, but they blew away everyone else that performed that night. They also did their original stuff, full of references to a revolutionary, life-changing Jesus. It was great to see people searching for peace, love, connection in some way, come up to the band afterwards and tell them that they were different somehow. A lot of seed planted there Monday night.

After the band played, (did I mention they didn’t go on stage until around 12:45 a.m.?), we were all starving. We headed a couple of blocks north to the finest burger place in South Beach, “Cheeseburger Baby.” It was there I helped Alex and Jesse to cheat on their new diet plan. It’s always great when the big boy on staff brings someone over to the dark side.

Paul you totally threw us under the bus!! haha. I guess we can afford to cheat a bit… Thanks for trying to make us fall.

Man, I still have never seen a saturn project show. When is the next one going to be in So Fla?

BTW, great job on getting the blog rolling again.

Paul,
Don’t you think that you are too old to be out clubbing on South Beach late on a Monday night / during the wee hours of Tuesday morning ? I was once like that. I now refer to that lifestyle as ‘my previous life’ (not capitalized). Come back over to the light side. Let’s chase some daylight.

I am definitely too old for that lifestyle! I held my own on Monday night but had no bounceback abilities on Tuesday. I either need to stay at home or start on a comprehensive steroid plan!

Dude you were there hardcore and faithful. You’re alright in our book dude, even though you couldn’t handle the Rock n Roll Scene…lol. Its nothing a little working out can’t handle. There will be more shows to come so get ready. We need you there dude!!!!

AGE is just a number bro!!! you came out and supported Tu Gente!!! Don’t let Chris convince you that you are old…Its just a number. lol

To summarize the scenario here we have the following elements in-place:

1. 1 AM on a Tuesday morning.
2. South Beach
3. Smoky bar / club.
4. Booze everywhere.
5. Rowdy drunks.

And within those elements we have my good friends:

1. Executive Pastor Paul
2. Praise & Worship Pastor Jesse
3. Youth Pastor Alex

This scenario is a shoo-in for tomorrow’s ‘Friday Night Blogroll Review’.

I didn’t say that Paul was old. He’s a few months younger than me ! I asked him if he thought he was too old to be out clubbing on South Beach late on a Monday night. He agreed with me.

It’s been quite the traumatic week for Paul.

Wow,what do I have to do to get a link on your blog?!?!?

Paul,
You’re not dead! Yeah!
