A Cool Sunday

This is my last Sunday as a single male in South Florida…HALLELUJAH!  I have a spouse for a reason. She definitely completes me in many ways. So I am trying to take advantage of the time I have today to try and relax and try to distract myself from the fact that my family is not here. Not an easy assignment. God, however, knows EVERY thing we are going through, even the things that seem mundane and trivial.

After grabbing some lunch with a few Life Pointers at El Nachitos (sp.), I decided to head north instead of back to my room at the party palace (Watkins Residence). While the storms came, and rain poured, I made my way to Dadeland Mall where a non-fat mocha from Starbucks helped to wake me up (I actually fell asleep sitting a stoplight on Kendall Blvd.). After a brief perusal of a couple of clearance racks, I decided to explore the area further. Driving in the pouring rain, not seeing much, thinking I was in a rough part of town, I headed north on Rt. 1. I decided to turn onto Sunset Road and found myself in a beautiful area filled with shops and eateries. I am now about to wrap up the evening sitting here at Panera Bread, watching families and others stroll by the quaint street outside my window seat. Though I have still missed the family, God lead me to a great distraction to make the time pass, while allowing me to relax and be productive at the same time. I am feeling great, had a healthy salad and iced green tea for dinner, and can’t wait to tackle all that tomorrow can bring. I serve an awesome God! Peace.

  1. Glad you had a chance to relax for a bit, and yes we have been given spouses for a GODLY reason. Enjoy every minute like is your last. Love on the kids and on each other and let the LORD handle everything else. After 36 years with a wonderful man by my side I could not have asked for anything better.
Have a safe trip home and back. Be blessed.

  2. Yes, you do have a spouse for a reason! And we can’t wait to be down there with you and the rest of the Life pointe family. (And keep you out of the malls!) Now it’s back to packing, packing, packing… We love you, Mariah, Nathan, Maggie, Meredith and yes, your better half!
